Our Roots

Growing Musical Futures in Our Community

Real Music NZ Trust was born from a simple belief: every young person deserves access to the transformative power of music. Based in Helensville and serving communities across Northland and Auckland, we've dedicated ourselves to breaking down barriers to music education.

Led by our dedicated trustees including Kiri Michelle Pendlebury, David Paul Van Dam, Michael Gee, Trent Nicholas, and Harry C Roberts, we create safe, nurturing spaces where youth and adults alike can discover their musical voice, build confidence, and connect with their cultural heritage.

Our Impact

The Sound of Success

Every note played, every song learned, every performance given—we measure our success in the confidence gained and lives enriched through music.

01

Youth Development

Over 500 young people have developed confidence, discipline, and creative expression through our programmes.

02

Community Connection

Our events bring together diverse communities, fostering understanding and unity through shared musical experiences.

03

Cultural Preservation

We're keeping traditional Māori musical practices alive while embracing contemporary forms of expression.

"Real Music NZ Trust gave my daughter more than just guitar lessons—they gave her confidence. She went from a shy child to performing at our local community centre. The tutors treat every student like family."
